The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released an intercepted radio communication between the Russian Command and border guard ships during the attack on Ukrainian boats near the Kerch Strait.
The aggressive actions against three Ukrainian ships took place on November 25 when they set sail from the port of Odessa to the port of Mariupol in the Azov Sea. After that, Russian special forces opened fire on the Ukrainian tugboat Yany Kapu, small armored artillery boats Berdiansk and Nikopol in the Kerch Strait and seized them. A total of 23 sailors were detained at a nearby port, and six of them were wounded.
According to the Chief of The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this radio interception is an evidence of purposeful aggressive escalation of the situation in the Black and Azov seas initiated and controlled by the leadership of the Russian Federation.
